Opus 1 Music Studio is hiring an experienced Cello Teacher to join our San Francisco Bay Area faculty — based in Palo Alto, California (Silicon Valley). You'll work with a community of internationally recognized teachers, premium facilities with acoustic grand pianos, and a roster of 1,400+ motivated students of all ages.
You'll teach cello students from young beginners through advanced players preparing for exams (ABRSM, CM, RCM), orchestra auditions, and recitals. Familiarity with Suzuki, Rick Mooney, and traditional method books is helpful.
Benefits and compensation: Compensation starts between $45 and $60/hr as a W-2 employee, with paid time off, medical, dental, and vision insurance, life insurance, 401(k), professional development opportunities, and free private lesson tuition.

What we look for
- A bachelor's degree, preferably in music performance for the instrument taught and/or music pedagogy — a BM, MM, DMA, or equivalent conservatory training. International training is welcome.
- Experience teaching students across ages and levels, including exam preparation (ABRSM, Certificate of Merit, RCM) where applicable.
- Two recorded teaching videos showing full lessons and at least one performance video, requested during the interview process.
- A criminal background check is required at hiring.
