Trial lesson policy

  • Trial lessons can not be booked more than two weeks in advance.

  • Each student can only take one trial lesson per teacher.
  • Current members may also use trial lessons to try out new teachers or new instruments.

When are lessons available?

Opus 1 enrolls private lesson students year-round at our Mountain View and Palo Alto campuses, with weekly lessons running through summer. A small number of major-holiday closures (Thanksgiving, the winter break, and federal holidays) are published on the studio calendar; tuition is structured so that students receive approximately 48 to 51 lessons per year regardless of which closures fall on their enrolled day.

Lessons meet once a week at the same scheduled time and are available in 30, 45, and 60 minute durations.

What will I need?

We provide instruments for initial trial lessons. Students taking regular lessons will need to have their own instrument at home to practice on.

Students are required to purchase music books and music accessories for their lessons.

What if I miss a lesson?

To cancel or reschedule a lesson, a legal guardian or adult student must do so on our online portal or by emailing admin@opus1musicstudio.com at least 24 hours before the scheduled lesson.

A make-up credit will be issued to your account immediately, unless you have already reached your cap. Each subscription is qualified for up to 3 unused make-up credits at a time. The make-up credit can be used immediately to schedule a make-up lesson with your teacher or any other available teacher.

Please see our Studio Policies for details.
